To travel to the TT Circuit Assen by train, you will need to head to Assen NS railway station, the nearest railway station to the circuit.
How to buy a train ticket to the TT Circuit Assen:

1. Buy Online via Dutch Railways (NS) Website or App:

  • Visit the NS (Dutch Railways) website or download the NS app.
  • Enter your departure station (e.g., Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen) and destination (Assen).
  • Select the date and time of your journey.
  • After choosing your train, purchase an e-ticket, which you can download to your phone or print at home.

2. Buy at the Train Station:

  • At major train stations in the Netherlands, ticket vending machines are available: Choose English on the machine interface. Enter your destination (Assen), select the type of ticket (one-way or return) and pay by card.
  • You can also visit a service desk to buy a ticket directly.

3. Use an OV-chipkaart:

  • The OV-chipkaart is a contactless smart card system that functions as an all-in-one ticket for public transportation across the Netherlands. Travelling from Amsterdam

  • Take a direct intercity train from Amsterdam Central Station to Zwolle, and then transfer to a regional train heading to Assen.
  • Travel time is around 2-2.5 hours.

Travelling from Utrecht

  • From Utrecht Central Station, take an intercity train to Zwolle, where you'll switch to a connecting train to Assen.
  • The journey takes approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Travelling from Rotterdam

  • From Rotterdam Central Station, take a train to Zwolle and transfer to the Assen-bound train.
  • The trip is around 2.5-3 hours.

Travelling from Groningen

  • A direct train from Groningen Central Station to Assen is available and takes around 15-20 minutes.

Travelling from Eindhoven

  • From Eindhoven Central Station, take a train to Utrecht, then transfer to the intercity to Zwolle, and finally switch to the regional train to Assen.
  • The journey takes around 2.5-3 hours.

Once you reach Assen NS railway station, you can take a taxi, bus, or shuttle to the TT Circuit, located about 6 km from the station:

  • On a regular basis, bus line 1 operates from Assen NS railway station to the TT Circuit's bus station located on Jack Middelburgplein Plaza, positioned on the north side of the venue. The journey takes 7 minutes
  • During race weekends shuttle buses operate between Assen NS railway station and the circuit's Noordlus entrance.
